Jonah happens to adore a certain little girl named Emma, who happens to be the daughter of my best friend Lisa. Jonah loves Emma even when Emma is 600 miles away, when he can only remember how pretty Emma is and how smart Emma is and wish Emma would marry him one day. When Emma is in his general proximity, Jonah feels compelled to give her his toys and pester her with attention.
This week, Jonah is happy. Jonah is spending his afternoons and evenings at Emma’s house. Jonah does not want to leave Emma’s house at bedtime. But he must. So when Jonah comes home to sleep in Grammie’s house, he dreams of Emma.
This Morning:
I had a dream. Emma and I went to the ocean. We had a fishing pole to fish with. Then I fell into the ocean! So Emma threw the fishing thing out into the water, and she fished for me. And she caught me for a fish! So I held on, and Emma pulled and pulled, and a whale tried to get me, but Emma pulled and pulled, and she pulled me in! And I said, “Thank you.”
that is so sweet. Johanna has a love at school, Aaron. They are both so smitten with each other it is hard not to laugh. She had a dream that he was superman and she was supergirl and they were flying everywhere together and got married.
They had a play date at his house and for the first time Joey was thrilled to play ALL boy toys/games. When I went to pick her up she was unscrewing a skateboard with a screwdriver…crazy cool
Wow. Keep that in a safe place, and maybe some day it can be printed on the wedding invitation 🙂
We did actually hear that “story” at lunch today…but he kept telling me, “But, this is NOT a story.” The sort of funny thing is that he spends most of his time playing with Caleb, probably because they play cars, or shooting, or other boy games…Jonah is fine until Emma leaves the room for any length of time, then he realizes she’s not there and has to find her. I did want to say to you, what a precious boy you have…It must be hard on him, surrounded by all his sisters, he probably doesn’t get to share all his UN-stories as much as he would like. But he must miss them, he asked today if one if his sissies could come to Emma’s house too. But, he specifically requested the one that doesn’t tell him, “No.” Anyway, point is, he is precious, full of imagination and wonder…able to make up elaborate stories. That part reminds me of you. But a lot of other things remind me of Jason. But (hear come the tears…) in many ways, having him around makes me feel closer to you. I miss you and I love you.
That is precious. Reminds me of a dream I just had about laundry…I’ll have to blog about it.
Oh how sweet that is!
What a lucky girl is Emma–to be loved so much by someone who had INCREDIBLY high standards in the way of girls. She must be something indeed. My boy just had his first “crush.” We don’t do the boyfriend/girlfriend teasing thing, but I watched in amazement as my little son gave his heart completely over to a 14 year old babysitter out at camp because she could draw his Hotwheels cars to perfection and liked playing with K’Nex. I foresee lots of black-haired, olive-skinned, brown-eyed girls in our future. . .
A true love story.
Where are you? Are you home? Did you get your box. My e-mail is acting wierd, so this is the next best thing.
