Spring and Not Spring

Naiah and I walked to the park tonight. It was oddly warm for the middle of May.
Naiah (age 3): Mommy, I’m going to walk over here in the shade.
Me: Okay, baby.
Naiah followed a row of trees for a while, then realized they had no leaves, and returned to my side.
“This shade is broken.”

Little Things

The seedlings ventured out onto the porch today. I read somewhere that you’re supposed to put them in a sheltered spot a week or so before planting, so they have a chance to get acclimated without being overwhelmed.

It’s not stopping.

Ella (8 months) stood on her own today.
It lasted for around ten seconds.
Then she realized that the flip flops she was clutching weren’t attached to Naiah anymore, so she sat.
I believe I need not tell you how I feel about this.
[sigh]

Ella, 8 months, asleep on Daddy’s tummy. Her favorite spot in the house.
