Looks good on ya.
Near the back alley this morning:
And this afternoon:
It’s small, but dude. It’s about all I could handle today.
Behold, my snot runneth black. And lo, the accursed rocks did not prevail!
Here’s a closer shot. Needs more topsoil.
And a tulip:
And the lilac:

well done!
Man! That’s too much work! I thought you were going to do raised beds. At least you would not have do quite so much digging. Good job of persisting through!
It is beautiful! (And man, your place is dry!) I love how you have so much sunshine – good for the ‘maters!
so who did you bury in your new grave?
Did you have to go and ask your uncle for “a plot of earth?” Maybe Dicken and the animals will show up soon.
(Love your garden.)
The raised beds were coming too slowly for the poor seedlings, who needed a home, and I wasn’t sure I really knew how to build them anyway. So I dug. It worked out.
Stephanie– Yes, very, very dry. We go through lots and lots of moisturizer up here. And those lava rocks are everywhere!!
Nathan– I thought about that as I was digging, and the thought was, Man, it’d be a total chore if I had to hide a body here. I’d be doing this for weeks!
Morbid much?
Roxanne– it’s really depressing how long it took me to remember what book you were referencing. Sigh. But I just bought a copy for the girls at the used book store for two bucks! Woo hoo!!
Ah the black snot… I’ve been there! Looking good! Loving the flower pics, and wish I could smell the lilacs through the screen.
Wow. That is why I do not have a gardern. Getting one started with the proper soil and all that is beyond me. It looks like you did a great job. Aren’t you worried the cows will get it?
Not at the moment, but later I will be! They’re still happy with their new grass in the meadow at the moment. When it starts getting dry and dead, they’ll head into town again. Hopefully the fence will be done by then.
“so who did you bury in your new grave?”
I’m still here!
