Since we moved way up to the top of this hill, the snow has always arrived by late September (usually in copious amounts, too). This year, however, it’s December, and we’ve still had not a flake. Which was nice. WAS.
Let’s see. . . How many times can we fit the word “snow” into a five day forecast?
- Tonight: Variable clouds with snow showers. Low 24F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
- Tomorrow: Variably cloudy with snow showers. High 28F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 60%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.
- Tomorrow night: Occasional snow showers. Low 18F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 2 to 4 inches.
- Sunday: Snow showers early, with a steadier snow developing late in the day. Cold. High near 25F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Significant snow accumulation possible.
- Monday: Snow. Highs in the mid 20s and lows in the upper teens.
- Tuesday: Snow likely. Highs in the mid 20s and lows in the mid teens.
And in keeping with the dismal weather, Naiah and I are sick. And when Naiah gets sick, she gets this abysmal croupish cough each night that just makes you want to cry for her. Poor baby.
The snow is tapping at the windows right now. Pray for us, and especially the baby, who really doesn’t need to catch what we’ve got! And remember to pray for baby Micah, as often as you can. He’s hoping to go home with Mom and Dad soon.

I don’t believe we would have survived this cold season without the humidifier. It was our bestest friend. I was debating on getting another one to put in the boys’ room since the girls were always hogging it. Poor baby girls.
Aw. I hope (and pray) that you all feel better soon! You can send some of the snow our way- we still haven’t had any ourselves!
My W had that terrible croupy cough too, we spent many nights sitting in a STEAMY bathroom with the door closed and the shower going full blast on hot.
I’ve also heard that it can help to step outside into cold (snowy!) night air.
But I do say, snow is so pretty
I am sorry for both of you. . .and I, too, get a croupy cough at least once a winter. Ugh.
