We’re living in a smoke haze these days. Over 5,000 acres are burning in our neck of the woods. I wanted to take a picture of the brown sky and red sun last night, but we were out of the house with no camera.
Our town hasn’t been put on evacuation notice yet, but part of the county has. They’ve closed every route down the mountain except one, which heads east through Reno and Tahoe. That makes me nervous. I don’t want to be up here with no way down.

Hope you get rain soon. Those California fires don’t sound like a lot of fun.
We will be praying for you guys. That sounds scary. Keep us posted!
Jehosaphat AND Egads!!!!! Be safe.
UH get down the mountain………Keep us notified and you are as always in our prayers.
Yikes! That’s kinda scary. Sending prayers for safety your way.
Sounds like a last minute trip to Ojai is in order
When we recently had those fires in Lake Arrowhead, it was such a reminder…”Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Everything said the fire was headed right toward our little cabin, and they had said that at a certain point, the firefighters would not even try to stop it, they would just let it burn through Crestline. So Ben and I prayed that the fire would just turn around and go the other way. The next morning, everyone was in shock because the wind changed it’s course, and the fire went the other way!! Yeah God!! All that to say…I am praying for you, that the fire will just go the other way. Stay safe.
Is the road to Paradise open??? It better be by the due date, eh???
One of the roads is partially open, for now. It’s actually the road to Chico. So far they have it down to one lane for about four miles near one of the fires, and it could close again at any time.
